SCHEDULE

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2008:

1:30 p.m.: All participants who are taking the bus should have arrived at Denver airport.

4:00 p.m.: Bus Arrives at Estes Park. Relax and scout out the facilities and the location till you choose to go to dinner.

5:00-7:00 p.m.:Buffet style dinner at the Aspen Dining Room.

7:30 p.m.: The retreat begins with a meet and greet, and an opening session on leadership, followed by a presentation “Well Grounded: Why being in nature is good for your health” by Brenlee Robinson, Master of Forest Conservation.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2008

7:00 – 9:00 a.m.: Breakfast is available in the Aspen Dining Room.

9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Full day with a professional organizational development consultant. Group decision-making, leadership styles, organizational lifecycles, techniques for increasing participation and follow-through, project and event planning, recruitment and development of new leaders, conflict resolution. Phew! Note that we We will have a lunch break at the appropriate time.

5:00-7:00 p.m.: Dinner is available in the Aspen Dining Room.

7:00 -9:00 p.m.: Optional night hike $5/person.

8:00 – 11:00 p.m.: Campfire at the main campfire ring.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2008

7:00 – 9:00 p.m.: Breakfast is available in the Aspen Dining Room. Bag lunches will be distributed.

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Full day hike with the Adventure Rabbi, Jamie Korngold. Throughout the day hike, Rabbi Korngold will show participants how to use the spiritual springboard many of us already feel outdoors, to create meaningful Jewish experiences. Route will go into Rocky Mountain National Park, along the Big Thompson River and to Moraine Park, concluding back at the Retreat center. If we are fortunate, we may get to hear the elk bugling, as this is prime elk habitat.

5:00-7:00 p.m.: Dinner is available in the Aspen Dining Room.

7:30 p.m.: Retreat wrap up, followed by presentation by Ingrid Aguayo, PhD, Colorado Forester and Entomologist. Ingrid will present the highlights and challenges of the forested areas of Colorado. This is a fabulous opportunity to learn about the ecology of the forests and parks, and what is happening in front of us that most of us miss!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2008

7:00 – 9:00 a.m.: Breakfast is available in the Aspen Dining Room. Bag lunches will be distributed.

9:00 a.m.: “Day with the Forester” optional add-on participants depart for a full day in Rocky Mountain National Park with Dr. Ingrid Aguayo, Colorado Forester and Entomologist. See Rocky Mountain National Park through the eyes of a Colorado Forester! Dr Ingrid Aguayo, Forester and Entomologist has offered to spend a full day with us! Rocky Mountain National Park is a 30 minute drive from our location in Estes Park. We will be in and out of the van as Ingrid shares with us her “insider’s perspective” on the highlights and challenges of this well known national park. This is a full day program, and will return to Estes Park at 5:00 p.m.

10:30 a.m.: Group bus to the airport departs. Keeners will have had time for a last walk in the park before getting onto the bus. Safe Travels!

Approx. 5:00 p.m.: “Day with the Forester” participants return.

5:00-7:00 p.m. Dinner is available in the Aspen Dining Room.

7:00 -9:00 p.m.: Optional night hike. $5/person
