Content Staging - How to Update Text on a Page Without Publishing and Making Available to Others for Approval First

When you make changes on this website using DotNetNuke, you are updating the live website directly.

You may not want your changes to show up right away. You may need to make changes bit by bit over time, or you may want someone else to review your changes before you publish them for the public.

Here is how you can make changes, without having them appearing on the live website right away.

Go to the page you want to update.

The content on the page is divided into sections called Modules. There are different types of Modules. The type of Module that lets you put normal text on the page is called the HTML Module. This procedure only applies to HTML Modules.

Find the HTML Module you want to change. On the lower right of the module is a gear symbol. Click the gear symbol to go into settings for that module.

In settings, go to the fourth tab that says HTML Module Settings.

Near the top, set the Workflow to Content Staging.

Below that, set Apply Workflow to Module.

Click Update.

You can now edit that module. When you make changes, they will not appear for the public. For the public to see your changes, you will need to click the Publish link.

Other Administrators can see your changes, so you can have another Administrator review your work before you publish your changes.
