MARCH   APRIL   NATIONAL

President's Message:

Welcome Spring!!!!!! As the season of renewal and fresh life begins, MOSAIC of NE Ohio is going to begin using some new methods of communication to let the NE Ohio Jewish Community know about our events. In addition to our traditional Yahoo Group newsletter, our event line, notices in Cleveland Jewish News, and our conventional website (http://www.mosaicoutdoor.org/ohione/), we will now have a presence on Facebook and Meetup. Look for our events to be posted on each of these sites within the week! We'd love to hear your feedback and any suggestions on how to better utilize these forms of communication.

Happy Passover to all!

PHOTO HIKE AT WENDY PARK AT WHISKEY ISLAND

WHEN: Sunday, March 28, 2010 10:30 a.m.

WHAT: You don't need a cameral to enjoy the views off Cleveland's legendary Whiskey Island, but there are some great photo ops to be had from the island's Wendy Park. Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant. Dress for the weather and bring some water to drink.
Wendy Park is the 22-acre park that runs along both the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio. It's the place where people can go to escape the urban landscape and relax amid the trees, water and wildlife thriving in the heart of the City of Cleveland. The park is home to a variety of animals – barn swallows, blue heron, turtles, deer and even some coyotes – to name just a few. The unique and amazing bridges that span the Cuyahoga River are a wonderful backdrop for the cottonwood and birds that lift the eye to the impressive downtown skyline. The Park sits right at the water's edge, and the spires of the city's buildings loom gracefully on the bluffs above – exposing what many believe to be the best view the City of Cleveland has to offer.
WHERE: Wendy Park is located on the immediate western shore of the Cuyahoga River where the river empties into Lake Erie. To get there, first head to Edgewater State Park which is located off of the West Shoreway or Ohio Route 2. When exiting the West Shoreway (Rte. 2) at Edgewater Park, you'll be heading North or towards lake Erie. Take the first (and only) road to the right, heading East. Follow the road around as it winds past the Sewer District Plant Operations (warning: the speed limit here is 25 mph).
Continue driving East. You'll have railroad tracks to the South or right, and the Cleveland Port Authority will be to your left or between you and Lake Erie. The road will end at the Whiskey Island Marina guard gate, which is the entrance to Wendy Park.

EVENT HOST
: Please call Steve Berger (216) 691-4692 to RSVP or for more information. Let Steve know if you plan on meeting at the carpool location or at the park.

COST: The Park is fee. Lunch is on you. Non-members will be charged a $2 non-member fee.

CARPOOL: Meet at Borders at Severance at 10 A.M. to carpool. We will leave at 10:15.
