FROM THE PRESIDENT:
Welcome to another month of Mosaic fun and frolic. With summer winding down, we
have plenty on our plates so lets get right to it.
We are changing our email list over to Yahoo Groups. As of the September newsletter
the only way to get the Mosaic newsletter and other announcements via email will
be to part of the NEOhioMosaic Yahoo Group. Of course fully paid members can have
the newsletter snail mailed. By now you should have received an email invitation
to join the group. If you have not received an invitation, send an email to NEOhioMosaic-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
SIGN UP FOR THE NEOHIOMOSAICYAHOO GROUP OR THIS WILL BE YOUR LAST MOSAIC NEWSLETTER.
In September, we are reviving the popular dining out events by going to Blue Canyon
Kitchen in Twinsburg. That’s right, call it Ethnic Eats, Gastronomical Adventures,
Hidden Gems or just Dinner, we are going to start planning special dinner events.
As part of this we want to have Members Choice Dinners. You suggest a place for
a bunch of Mosaic people to go out to eat. To help you, here are some of the factors
to consider in choosing a restaurant:
(1) It should be good, look for great food, unique atmosphere or décor,
above average service, or just a fun factor.
(2) No national chains restaurants; this helps support local owners, encourages
the community and is just more interesting.
(3) Avoid the familiar; we want to find places with some adventure, part of what
we are trying to do is introduce new restaurants or cuisines to our members.
(4) Be aware of value, price is not the only issue here, rather the question is
what do you get for your money (great food, better ingredients, bigger portions
or an exceptional experience); also very high priced restaurants are great for
special occasions, but are out of the price range of most members.
(5) Finally, we need to be able to get reservations a couple of days before the
event; since most RSVP’s come late and we want everybody to get in.
So if you have an old favorite, a new find or just a restaurant that you’ve
been wanting to try, let us know.
Mosaic elections are coming up, please start thinking about running for office,
we need you and it can be fun.
Buckeye Trail Update, I have made it past Akron (over 90 miles overall) and will
soon be coming to the point where I get to start heading back up towards Mentor.
There are some really cool hikes I have done, and I have gotten to where I am
covering sections about 7 miles long at a stretch.
If you want to discuss any of the above or anything else concerning Mosaic, please
email me at sbb@margulieslaw.com or phone me at (216) 691-4692.
