FROM THE PRESIDENT:
Let me start off with some news, I am proud to let you know that I have been
elected to serve as Vice President of MOCA (Mosaic Outdoor Clubs of America)
until the next International Event. MOCA organizes several events throughout
the year and assists the individual clubs.
As for my Buckeye Trail ambitions, I have already hiked or biked from Mentor
Headlands all the way to North Chagrin Reservation (4 hikes, 2 bike rides).
So far I have seen a number of deer, rabbit, woodchuck and assorted birds, including
woodpeckers, buzzard and cardinals. We have wonderful recreational activities
all around us it is well worth going out and taking advantage of them.
Finally, I would strongly encourage everyone to attend the planning meeting
on Wednesday June 22. We need your ideas, thoughts even complaints. This is
your chance to have Mosaic do what you want to do, at the times and places that
you want. That’s right we actually listen to what you tell us. So join
us, the worst that will happen is you’ll have a good dinner.
Be good and enjoy yourself
Steven Berger, President
FROM THE VICE-PRESIDENT:
Hi, everyone! Summer is fast approaching, and with it the warm weather. With
Mosaic, we will kick off this month by taking part in America’s pastime
as we watch our own Lake County Captains win another game. Come help clean up
the Hebrew Cultural Gardens at the Jewish Volunteers in Action’s annual
Brunch & Bloom; enjoy a Saturday night potluck dinner/havdalah/games night;
and take a twilight hike. Finally, we celebrate our club’s 7th anniversary
with our traditional canoe trip and picnic at Camp Hi. Come join us and enjoy
the great outdoors!
