FROM THE PRESIDENT:
With spring here I was hoping I would have better news for all of you, but the truth is that we are seeing attendance dropping at Mosaic events. This is a real concern. I know we are all busy and it can be hard to fit things into your schedule, but I would like to ask each of you to think about attending an event this month. They are fun, good for you and good for the group. Even more, I would ask you to ask a friend along to an event. We need to find ways to keep Mosaic growing.

Hi everyone, and welcome to the first month of spring! Join us as we take our first two hikes of the season as we explore the beautiful Shaker Lakes region, and stroll through the scenic South Chagrin Reservation. We will also enjoy some fun and games at Dave & Buster’s, and see a movie at Regal Mayfield Heights 10. Hope to see you all soon, and have a happy Passover!

APRIL EVENTS

SHAKER LAKES HIKE
WHEN: Sunday April 3, 2005, 11:00am.
WHAT: For the first hike of spring, we will taking a scenic walk through the woods behind Shaker Lakes Nature Center. Afterwards, we will eat lunch at Yours Truly at Shaker Square.
WHERE: Shaker Lakes Nature Center is located at 2600 S. Park Blvd., Shaker Heights. To get there, take Shaker Blvd. west. When you get to Lee Road, turn right. Turn left when you get to South Park. Veer to the right at the fork in the road. The Nature Center will be on your left. To get to Yours Truly, go back to Shaker Blvd. and drive west until you get to Shaker Square. Drive all the way around the square, and the restaurant will be on the right hand side. Park anywhere along the square.

FOOD & FUN AT DAVE & BUSTER’S
WHEN: Saturday April 9, 2005, 7:00pm.
WHAT: Dave & Buster’s is more than 50,000 square feet of fun filled with video games and simulators, billiards, and shuffle-board tables. Win great prizes with tickets from the games. Great food and drinks add to the fun!
WHERE: Dave & Buster’s is located at 25735 First Street, Westlake. To get there, take I-271 N to I-90 W. Take I-90 W to the OH-252/Columbia Rd. exit (exit 159). Turn right onto Columbia Rd., then turn left onto First Street. Dave & Buster’s will be on your left.
COST: Prices vary for food and drinks, as well as game cards. Please call (440)892-1145 if you would like more information.

HIKE AT SOUTH CHAGRIN/LOOK ABOUT LODGE
WHEN: Sunday, April 17, 2005, 11:00am.
WHAT: Meet at South Chagrin’s Look About Lodge, then hike on one of the many trails at this spacious park. Afterwards, we will eat lunch at Mom’s Diner in Solon.
WHERE: Look About Lodge is on Miles Rd., east of Rt. 91, in Bentleyville. To get there, you can take I-271 S to Richmond/Emery Roads exit. Turn left at exit ramp onto Richmond Rd. When you get to Miles Rd., turn left. Continue on Miles past Brainard, and past SOM Center (Rt. 91). Look About Lodge will be on your right. To get to Mom’s Diner, take Miles Rd. west. Diner will be on your left, before you reach Brainard.
CARPOOL: Leave Starbucks at Village Square by 10:35am.

DINNER & MOVIE NIGHT IN MAYFIELD HEIGHTS
WHEN: Saturday, April 30, 2005, 5:30 pm.
WHAT: Dinner at Cafe 56 Grill followed by an early movie at Regal Mayfield Heights 10. Cafe 56 Grill is the perfect place to eat out if you are doing so during Passover. The name comes from the 56 salads/items that are the focal point of the menu. Then we can catch an early movie since the food is served Cafeteria style.
WHERE: Cafe 56 Grill is located at 1433 SOM Center Rd. in Mayfield Heights at the Eastgate Shopping Center.
To get there, take Mayfield Road going East. At the intersection of Mayfield and SOM Center Road, take a left. Then turn right into the first entrance on the right. Continue straight and the restaurant is right there. Regal Mayfield Heights 10 is located around the corner from the Cafe 56 Grill at 1345 SOM Center Road.

Tuesday, May 10 - 6 pm - Hike at Strawberry Lane (North Chagrin Reservation). Followed by dinner at Austin's Smokin' Steakhouse on Wilson Mills Road at 7:30 pm.

Sunday, May 15 – 12 pm - Biking on Cuyahoga Valley Towpath/lunch afterwards at Winking Lizard in Peninsula.

Saturday, May 21 – Dinner at 7:00 pm at Red Robin on Orange Place followed by dancing at Club Capers in Beachwood at 9:00 pm.

Sunday, May 29 - 11 am - Hike at Rocky River Reservation followed by a picnic lunch
