| DETAILS | Revolutionary Fun! The Mosaic International Event, a holiday weekend full of water sports, hiking, biking, canoeing, rock climbing, and music is coming east this year! Join us in New England's Berkshire Mountains for a weekend of outdoor activities, fun and schmoozing. Mosaic Outdoor Clubs of
America, joined by the New York and Massachusetts Mosaic
clubs, are pleased to announce that the 2004
International Event will be held Labor Day weekend,
September 2-6, 2004 at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac in Lenox,
Massachusetts. The camp is located on Stockbridge Bowl, a
three mile long natural spring-fed lake. Facilities
include a heated pool, a full ropes course, canoes,
kayaks and water skiing. Lenox is a
wonderful New England town nestled in the middle of the
Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts. The area
offers a wide range of recreational opportunities. We
will have access to a variety of hiking trails at various
levels, including a portion of the Appalachian Trail and
Mt. Greylock the highest point in Massachusetts, with a
view of 5 states. Biking opportunities and numerous lakes
and rivers will present us with a varied slate of outdoor
activities. In addition the area is a summer artistic and
cultural mecca with Tanglewood, the summer home of the
Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Norman Rockwell Museum and
many other fine art, performance and music opportunities.
The Kripalu Yoga Center, a world class Yoga facility is
located near the camp. To kick off the
festivities, the Mosaic Outdoor Mountain Club of
Massachusetts will host a Pre-Event Tour in and around
the city of Boston with a variety of great activities.
That's right, Mosaic will enjoy the culture, the history,
the fun of Beantown. As always,
Mosaic relies heavily on volunteers to plan the Labor Day
Event and make it the best that it can be. Planning is
underway, but we are looking for volunteers to help in
leadership positions, committee members and event leaders.
The planning committee is an international bunch of
people, living in the US and Canada. By volunteering you
will meet new people, help to shape the event, explore
your capabilities, expand your skills, get the
satisfaction of a job well done and have some fun. So
join us on this adventure. |
