Hey
campers! It's time for another fabulous camping
trip brought to you by Mosaic of North Texas and
me, Amy Meinstein, your Bunkhouse Bubbeleh! At
Mother Neff State Park (just south of Waco) http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/mother/mother.htm
This
trip is open for all Texas Mosaic chapters. If
you've never been on one of our camping trips,
you are truly up for a treat. We will have
organized activities and fabulous meals. You can
do as little or as much as you like but everyone
will be expected to pitch in and help with meals.
A covered
pavilion with picnic tables, campsites, meals,
snacks and beverages will be included. This
weekend is the last weekend of Pesach. Just so
you know, not all food will be "Kosher for
Passover" but we will have plenty of matzah
and will be abstaining from bread. The park has
flush toilets, showers and a nice hiking trail.
We will be having a volleyball tournament, hikes,
etc. Please feel free to bring any toys (games,
bikes, roller blades, frisbees, footballs, etc).
Here's a list of
things you will need/want to bring with you: tent,
sleeping bag, sleeping pad/mattress, pillow, lawn
chair, bug spray, sun block, clothing, toiletries,
towel, plate, bowl, fork, knife, spoon, hot cup,
cold cup. If anyone has gear (tent, sleeping bag)
to lend or needs to borrow gear, let us know and
we will try to help you out. Also, REI rents
tents and sleeping bags at reasonable rates.
Please do not let lack of gear keep you from
coming! Check out the web site for directions.
Those of you
from Houston, I think you will take 290 to 77
north, then take hwy 36 (north/west) to hwy 236,
but consult your own map to be sure! April 13th
is Good Friday and a day off from work for many
of us. We will be at the park by noon if you care
to join us early! Otherwise, shabbat dinner will
kick off our weekend. I will have room in the van
for 1 other person if anyone cares to ride along
from Dallas.
Feel free to
email with any questions! to
